Small Business BC – Best Apprentice Training Nominee

Owner Heidi Romich’s belief in the value of apprenticeship programs dates back many years: in 1991, she worked with the Industry Training Authority (ITA) to successfully challenge Executive Chef certification for a long-time and deserving employee; this belief has not changed.

Heidi continues to embrace the philosophy of apprenticeship training today – she is instrumental in the education of the five Red Seal chefs and four apprentices employed at the Heid Out Restaurant and Brewhouse, keeping talented, motivated and local people in the industry.

The College of the Rockies Culinary Arts program in Cranbrook has also benefitted from Heidi’s expertise and support as she has corroborated with the instruction and operations teams for numerous years.

As a testament to Heidi’s commitment to apprenticeships and the Food and Beverage industry, she has recently been honoured with a nomination for Best Apprentice Training by the Small Business BC Awards.
